You are shopping in a supermarket and your toddler asks you to buy her some sweets. You refuse because it is time for dinner. She starts screaming in the middle of the aisle and she throws herself on the floor and refuses to move. You plead with her in vain and end up buying her the sweets to keep her quiet.

Solution
Learning about child development, taking time out for yourself, how to challenge unacceptable behaviour, "I" statements, setting boundaries, time out and modelling.

Result
A calmer, more relaxed in control parent who is able to use a range of firm and fair parenting skills to set boundaries and enable the child to explore and enjoy their environment.
